How to Get Your Kroger W-2 Form: Current and Former Employees

To get your Kroger W-2, current employees sign in to the Express HR portal at ess.kroger.com, and former employees use either MyTaxForm.com or myhistoricalinfo.kroger.com. Kroger is required to deliver the form by January 31 each year, though for the 2026 tax year that date falls on a Sunday and the deadline shifts to February 1, 2027. Downloading it online is faster than waiting on the mail and lets you start your return weeks earlier.

If You Still Work at Kroger

Log in to ess.kroger.com, sometimes called Express HR or MyInfo, using your Enterprise User ID (EUID) and password. On the dashboard, open the “My HR” section and find the W-2 and tax information link. Your form is available there as a downloadable PDF.

One catch: the electronic copy only appears if you previously agreed to receive it that way. The IRS requires employers to get each worker’s affirmative consent before delivering W-2s online instead of on paper. If you never opted in, the portal won’t show the form, but a paper copy will still be mailed to you. First-time users may be prompted to complete multi-factor authentication or sign the electronic delivery consent before the document unlocks.

Electronic W-2s usually post in mid-to-late January, before the mailing deadline. Check that your email and mailing address in Express HR are current before December so nothing gets misrouted. Forgotten password? Reset it through the identity management tool at a store kiosk, or call HR Express at 1-800-952-8889 if self-service fails.

If You’ve Left Kroger

Access to Express HR is typically cut off within a short window of your separation date, so former employees use one of two other portals.

MyTaxForm.com

MyTaxForm.com is run by Equifax’s workforce solutions division and is the main portal for former Kroger employees. Enter Kroger’s employer name or employer code to reach the login screen. The default credentials are your former employee ID and a PIN, which is usually the last four digits of your Social Security number unless you changed it. Once inside, open the tax forms section, pick the year, and download the PDF.

MyHistoricalInfo.kroger.com

The second option, myhistoricalinfo.kroger.com, runs on Oracle Applications Cloud and is especially relevant for more recent separations. Access uses a personal email address and a password separate from your old Kroger credentials. If you’ve never set up an account, click “Forgot Password” and enter the email address Kroger has on file to create your login. The tax forms section holds your W-2.

If neither portal cooperates, call 1-800-576-4377 for dedicated former-employee tax document support.

If Your W-2 Doesn’t Arrive

Kroger is legally required to deliver your W-2 by the end of January (February 1 for the 2026 tax year, since January 31 falls on a Sunday). If that deadline passes, start with Kroger directly at 1-800-952-8889 to confirm your mailing address and ask when the form shipped.

Still nothing by the end of February? The IRS says you can call 800-829-1040 to file a formal complaint. Have your name, address, Social Security number, dates of employment, and Kroger’s name and address ready. The IRS will send Kroger a letter requesting they furnish your W-2 within ten days and will mail you Form 4852, a substitute W-2.

The IRS recommends filing on time even if the W-2 never arrives. Use Form 4852 to estimate your wages and withholdings from your final pay stub for the year, and attach it to your return. Returns filed with Form 4852 can take longer to process, and if a corrected W-2 later shows different numbers, you’ll need to amend using Form 1040-X.

Paper Reissues and Corrections

If you never opted into electronic delivery, Kroger mails the W-2 to the last address on file. For a lost or undelivered copy, call 1-800-952-8889 to verify your address and request a reissue. A replacement takes time to process, so don’t wait until April.

If wages, withholdings, or your name are wrong on the form, Kroger has to issue a corrected version called a W-2c. The employer files this, not you. Contact Kroger’s HR or payroll as soon as you notice the error, and be specific about what needs to change. Your final pay stub is a useful reference for both sides. Kroger will send you a copy of the W-2c and file the correction with the Social Security Administration. If you already filed and the corrected numbers change your tax liability, file Form 1040-X and attach Copy B of the W-2c.

Watch for W-2 Phishing

Your W-2 carries your Social Security number, home address, and full income detail, which makes it a prime target during tax season. Be skeptical of unsolicited emails claiming to be from Kroger HR or a payroll provider and asking you to click a link to view your W-2. Legitimate employer portals don’t send tax documents as email attachments or request login credentials by email. Type ess.kroger.com or MyTaxForm.com directly into your browser rather than clicking links in messages, and if something looks off, call Kroger HR instead of replying.
